How to Cancel or Change Delta Flights Affected by Corona-virus

Please note: If you purchased your flight tickets through a travel agent or online travel agency such as FriendzTravel, you will contact them to cancel or change your flights. Now, get familiar with the airline policies outlined below.

Delta Air Lines is providing flexibility to rebook or cancel flights affected by the coronavirus pandemic situation in the form of fee waivers. Delta is allowing passengers with eligible tickets to change or cancel flights without incurring additional fees.

For flight changes, travelers are generally responsible for paying any difference in fare, with some exceptions. For cancellations, credits will be issued for future travel. See below for instructions on how to cancel or change your flight, and a list of eligible tickets.

Delta is advising that due to extremely high call volume you do not call their customer service line unless you are scheduled to travel within 72 hours. All other changes or cancellations should be completed through the Delta airline Cancellations Phone Number.

How to Cancel or Change Flights Using Delta Cancellation toll-free number 1–888–826–0067

Follow these steps to change Coronavirus affected Delta Air Lines flights:

• Call toll-free number and give your booking related information like your booking number, credit or debit card number, or ticket number.
• Follow the steps told by Agent and choose from the flight you wish to change, from availability tell the desired flight you want to opt for a new flight.
• You will have to pay the difference, if the new fare is higher than the original ticket and If the new fare is lower, you will get a future travel credit for the difference.
• If you select the same travel dates, origin, and destination as the original ticket and receive a lower fare, you won’t receive the travel credit.

To cancel Delta Air Lines flights affected by the coronavirus:

• Call toll-free number and give your booking related information like your booking number, credit or debit card number, or ticket number.
• Follow the Steps told by Agent and give verbal confirmation to cancel the desired flight.
• You can apply the unused value of the original ticket toward the purchase of a new ticket for 12 months after the original ticket date.
• If the new fare is higher than the original, you will have to pay the difference. If the new fare is lower, you will receive a credit for the difference toward future travel.

Flights Purchased in March 2020

Delta Air Lines is waiving all change fees for flights purchased March 1–31, 2020. Tickets can be changed as many times as necessary for up to 12 months from the original purchase date through February 28, 2021.

Eligibility:

• Tickets purchased between March 1–31, 2020
• Original travel scheduled March 1, 2020 — February 25, 2021
• New ticket must be issued, and travel must begin by, February 28, 2021
• Follow instructions above to change your flight, or to cancel and receive credit toward future ticket purchases.

US Domestic Flights in March and April

Delta Air Lines is waiving change fees and some fare differences for US domestic flights scheduled to depart in March or April. Flights can also be cancelled and the unused portion of the ticket will be applied toward future travel (within 12 months of original ticket date).

Change fees and fare differences waived: same destination as original, depart before April 30

Change fees waived, fare differences apply: different destinations, or same destination departing May 1 — December 31, 2020.

What if the new fare is lower? You will be issued a credit for the difference good toward future ticket purchases.

Note: the international travel waiver applies to and from the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico (see below).

Eligibility:

• Tickets originally purchased on or before March 17, 2020 for travel between March 17 and April 30, 2020.
• By December 31 2020, New ticket must be issued and travel must begin.

International Flights in March, April, and May

Delta Air Lines is waiving change fees for international travel (including the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico) scheduled to depart through May 31, 2020. You can also cancel flights and receive a credit good toward future ticket purchases. If the new flight is to the same destination as originally ticketed and departs before May 31, 2020, Delta will also waive the fare difference, if any.

Eligibility:

• Original tickets issued on or before March 17, 2020, for international travel through May 31, 2020.
• The new ticket must be issued on or before, and travel must begin by, December 31, 2020.

All other flights

For flights within the United States scheduled to depart on or after May 1, 2020 that do not meet the criteria for waivers above, check back here for additional information as it becomes available.
